Hosting Tips from The Jackson House

 

In order to make your event a true success at the Jackson House, we have provided a list of tips to host the perfect party or meeting.

 

Ensure that our space works for your event! Think about your space and seating requirements when you visit The Jackson House and ask how we can configure our indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate your needs.

 

Will weather make a difference? The Jackson House backyard with a fountain pool makes a wonderful setting for your guests in good weather, but we can also move people inside or on covered porches in case of rain. Keep an eye on the forecast and let’s be prepared for the conditions.

 

Great food makes a great party! At the Jackson House, our kitchen allows you to bring or prepare your own food – or gives your caterer an easy spot to set-up. A refrigerator, gas range, convection oven and microwave are available. 

 

Don’t forget the beverages! We recommend dropping off your beverages in advance of the event to allow time for setup.  Remember to bring your own ice! An extra ice chest may be required as our freezer is not huge.

 

Serving alcohol? Think about the possible need to hire a bartender to make everything easier for you as the host. Please remember that the Jackson House doesn’t sell alcohol nor is the staff responsible for serving alcohol.

 

Send invitations – and follow up! Getting a head count is tough! People are crazy busy these days and will likely forget to RSVP. Either expect a poor response rate or be ready to make follow up calls to get a reasonable estimate of attendance. 

 

What about decorations? You are welcome to use the vases, candle holders and other decorative items we have, but you may also want to bring your own decorations or flowers. Please let us know what will you need and make arrangements with staff for access prior to your event.

 

Parking considerations. Let your guests know that if our driveway is full, parking at the Bentonville Public Library is a very short walk from The Jackson House.

 

All the extras! We have plates, silverware, as well as wine and beverage glasses for 75 guests!  No need to rent or bring from home. We also have serving platters, utensils and table linens. The only thing we ask you to bring is napkins. Also, bring plastic containers if you want to take your extra food home.

 

The best service is our mission. Your event will be staffed by our professional Jackson House staff – you can enjoy the event, and we’ll pamper your guests.
